On August 17, Khmer-Krom from all around the globe participated in a peaceful demonstration in front of the Vietnam embassy in demand of Vietnam Government returning Abbot Tim Sakhorn.
Khmer-Krom from all around the world have been protesting many times asking the Government of Vietnam to immediately release all the monks that have been imprisoned. Those monks that were arrested did not have fair trail. Vietnamese officers arrested Theravada Buddhist monks during a peaceful protest for freedom of religion.
Vietnam Ambassador ignored Khmerkrom protesters. Khmer-Krom that protested in western countries urged that the Vietnamese ambassador should step out and to communicate with protesters on the situation that are happening to Khmerkrom monks in Vietnam.
The Khmer-Krom protesters hoped that the demonstrations done in the western countries can help spread out the true about the Vietnam Communist party and would be carried to Western politicians and governments around the world. The demonstrations were meant to rally for support for Khmerkrom's rights in Vietnam.
Without the help from the Western Countries, Khmer-Krom people cannot resolved this never ending struggle of our people. It is crucial to gain support from international embassies in Vietnam and Cambodia for the cause; otherwise, the prospect that the rights and freedom of the Khmerkrom people will be respected and protected is dim.
